Memorable Weddings

It seems like all my friends are getting married right now. One wedding blends into another. They're all a great time but there are only a few that stand out. These are the weddings I'll never forget.

Humor in Your Best Man Speech - Dos and Don'ts

A lot of guys might not like to admit it, but they do get nervous about giving the best man's speech at their friends' or family members' wedding. Actually, it doesn't have to be all that big of a deal. You do want to cover your bases and get the important things right, and this includes being appropriate for the occasion. Sure you want to be respectful, but humor is essential in making people feel at ease and enjoying the speech. Humor gives a moment for people to unwind and relax during all the events of the day.

Wedding Toast vs. Wedding Speech

Before you have a panic attack over what to say at a wedding, know what is expected of you. This is going to depend on if you were asked to speak, your relationship to the wedding party, the wedding plan and whether you’re delivering a toast, a speech or a combination of the two.

My Favorite Wedding Toasts

A toast is a great way to end your wedding speech. It can be used on it’s own if you have been asked to give a toast or “say a few words” rather than give a speech. Here are some of my favorite wedding toasts.

Let us lift our glasses and salute our beautiful bridesmaids. They were like flowers as they surrounded the Bride today. It was truly beauty surrounding beauty. I salute the love and affection between them and the Bride and I am curious as to if any of them have any plans for next weekend? To the Bridesmaids! Cheers.
A toast to the groom. He has shown us all his wisdom and his good taste in the selection of his bride, and his understanding of reality in his selection of me as the best man. Even though I may be the best, today he has shown that it is he has the most luck.
To the Bride and Groom. Never go to bed angry - always stay up and argue! Cheers.

Wedding Speech Humor

Weddings are supposed to be fun, right? Sure, there will be a few emotional tears, and some angry words will be shared when the words “cash bar” pass through the crowd, but for the most part weddings are a joyous affair. There’s food and drink, friends and relatives, music, dancing and … speeches.

Speeches can be one of the most fun, and funniest, parts of a wedding – if you do it right. This is a time when you really want people laughing with you, rather than at you. To make that happen, you have to remember a few things.

Hilarious Speech by the Bride's Sister

The maid of honor speech is an opportunity to have some fun. Not everybody can pull off a rap performance like this at a wedding but I think we can still learn a lot from the content here. The speaker starts with a fun intro and then talks a little about the bride and her growing up, she keeps it relevant to the wedding though. Then she focuses most of the "speech" on the bride and groom's relationship. Enjoy.

7 Great Quotes for Your Father of the Bride Speech

Quotes are a great way to begin or end a speech or to emphasize a point. I also find that browsing quotes is a great way to get inspired when I'm stuck for ideas. The Father of the bride speech is one of the most important speeches at a wedding. Giving your daughter away is not a trivial thing.

Here are my seven favorite daughter quotes. Maybe you can use one of these in your father of the bride speech.

Watching your daughter being collected by her date feels like handing over a million dollar Stradivarius to a gorilla.
