Retirement speech by boss

Intro

Normally when I see such a large group of employees gathered, eating cake and chatting, I feel the need to encourage everyone to get back to work. Today, however, is a special occasion. We are here to help send off Mark Young as he retires after 32 years with Ace Enterprises.

I want to thank each of you for coming to this milestone event. I also want to acknowledge some very special guests including Mark’s wife and children and the president and CEO of Ace Enterprises, Kelvin Oliver.

Retirement speech by new guy to mentor

Intro

Thank you everyone for coming tonight. I see that we have Mr. Jenkins from our regional offices. I am also glad that Mr. Weber could make it. For those of you who don’t know Mr. Weber, he is not only one of our most loyal clients, but also one of Mark’s good friends. I appreciate the fact that each and every one of you is here tonight to listen to me speak about Mark.

My name is Simon and I have only been with Ace Enterprises about a year. Obviously, I don’t know Mark like you know him, and I don’t have all the great stories that you do.

Retirement speech by boss of manufacturing company

Introduction

As you all know, we are here because this is Mark’s last day as an employee here at Ace. I want to thank all of you for being here to wish him well as he transitions from work to the next adventure in his life. I also want to thank his lovely wife Ann who is also here, for allowing Mark to remain a member of the team here throughout his entire career. Thank you for that Ann, and thank you for taking care of this guy so he could give us so many great years.

I want to thank you for coming tonight to honor Mark at his retirement party. On behalf of Ace Enterprises I welcome you!

I’ve been given the privilege to present the retirement address tonight, but before I get started, let me first introduce to you to our honored guest’s family. To the right of Mark is his lovely wife Donna and to his left is their son Albert. Let’s give them a warm welcome.

Speech for the retiring superstar

Intro

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, colleagues and friends, welcome. I also want to welcome our esteemed Director of Overseas Operations, Mr. Stan Miller and his lovely wife, Patty. As you all know, we are here tonight to honor an exceptional person, Mr. Mark Green, or as he’s known around the office, Superman. Along with Mark, I would like to acknowledge his wife, Andrea, who deserves her own round of applause for being able to handle this dynamo for over 35 years!

Retirement Speech by Retiree with Advice for the Future

This retiree passes on some advice to the audience.

Thank you to each of you for taking the time to celebrate my retirement this evening with my family and me. I also appreciate Don Mitchell’s wonderful and mostly accurate introduction. Amongst my list of achievements, he did forget to note that I am also responsible for the short-lived, though much loved, Flip-Flop Fridays. Had we not also chosen to move to speakerphone conference calls just a month into that initiative, I have no doubt that we would all still be enjoying the gentle sounds of hundreds of flip-flops slapping the tile floors of Ace Enterprise once a week.

Retirement speech by a hippie

Warm and informal retirement speech by a hippie. Groovy!

I never was good with these kinds of things, but I guess I should start out by saying hello and thank you for coming to this big ol’ shindig. A special thanks to the best friends a guy could ever have – Jimmy and Bob - and of course an extra special thanks to my beautiful soul mate, Sunshine.

I’ve been with this company for awhile now and I’ve had so much fun here. We have all come such a long way in this journey we call life, changing all the while. Everyone used to tell me,”Mark, you’re such an old hippie,” and that is so true because I am.

Example Speech by Retiree with hobbies

I would like to thank all of you for taking the time tonight to celebrate my retirement – it’s good to know that we’re all excited I’m leaving! It’s especially nice to see Ace Enterprise’s CEO Rob Stryder and former HR Director Stan Lowell here this evening. Thank you, gentlemen. For those of you who don’t know, Stan was responsible for hiring me thirty years ago, and Rob was responsible for not firing me during those thirty years. It is an honor and a pleasure to have you both here tonight.
