Well, today I do not feel like I am losing a sister. Instead, I feel like I am welcoming an ex-boyfriend permanently into the family. I am the bride’s sister, and I actually dated the groom’s brother. It worked out much better for them, but thankfully, me and my ex remain friends so Thanksgiving will not have to be an awkward affair.
I want to thank my sister for giving me the honor of standing as her Maid of Honor. I want to thank the groom for making her so happy. To all of you who have come to share this day, I thank you as well.
Mathew, Thank you for the honor and joy of being your Best Man today. Sarah, I am so happy for both of you, and am excited to be at this celebration for what I know is going to be a truly awesome marriage. And to both of your parents, let me offer congratulations on a day that is very special to you as well. Today Mathew and Sarah set out on the Yellow Brick Road: we really have no idea where the path will take them. But we have a million hopes and dreams for all that life will give them along the way.
Hello, everyone, I’m Lucy, the maid of honor and Mary’s best friend. When Mary asked me to be her maid of honor I jumped at the chance. To say it is an “honor” is quite right, and I felt like it was finally my chance to do something for her since she’s always doing everything for everyone else.
Good evening everybody. I’d like to welcome everybody to the reception for Erica Davis and Kevin Klein. Let’s have a round of applause for Erica and Kevin! And lets have a round of applause for Mr. and Mrs. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Klein!
So welcome everyone! I'm told I'm not only the best man, but I'm Dan with a plan. I've known this day was coming officially for about a year, but I guess I first knew somehow about 20 years ago when Mike and met. Of course, back then we wouldn't have guessed we'd someday love girls or just how we'd be celebrating so many years later.
Back then I think our thoughts went as far as what was in our lunch bag and how many hours it was until school was out, so we could tie on our masks, battle evil megalomaniacs, and yell Cowabunga!
